Pareto Networks, Inc.
Privacy Policy

Effective Date: December 24, 2009

Pareto Networks, Inc. has created this privacy policy to demonstrate its commitment to the privacy of its customers and users. This privacy policy applies to this website (the "Site") and Pareto's software-as-a-service for enabling virtual workplaces on demand (the "Service") offered through this Site. By using this Site, you agree to this privacy policy.

1. Changes to Privacy Policy We may change and update this privacy policy from time to time, so you should check back to this page for the updated policy. For any significant changes affecting your personally identifiable information, we will post a more prominent notice to the Site of the change. If you disagree with any change, you must stop using the Service. Otherwise, we will consider your continued use to be acceptance of the change.

2. Information Collection and Usage Pareto collects different kinds of information through the Site and the Service, including through application programming interfaces (APIs) and third party applications that interoperate with the Service, and uses this information in different ways. Non-Personally Identifiable Information. When you visit the Site, we collect certain demographic information (such as your IP address, type of Internet browser and operating system you use, pages viewed, the URL that you visited before you came to our Site, and the URL to which you next go) in order to understand how users navigate through the Site and to improve your experience using the Site. This information is not linked to your personally identifiable information. Like most websites, we also use cookies to provide users an efficient experience in using the Site. A cookie is a small text file that the web server places on a user's computer hard drive as a unique identifier. Cookies enable Pareto to track usage patterns and deliver customized content to users. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies, but you can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. If you set your browser to refuse cookies from the Site, then please note that your use of the Service may be impacted. User Information. If you send email or other communication to Pareto, we may retain those communications in order to process your inquiries, respond to your requests and improve our Site and Service. In registering for the Service, we collect some basic information from you (like name, title, e-mail address, telephone number, credit card or other means of payment, etc.). When using the Service, you may be asked for additional information to help identify you. All of this information used to specifically identify you is called "User Information" in this privacy policy. We only collect User Information that you provide to us or have given us permission to collect. In the case of credit card payments, Pareto uses credit card information solely to check the financial qualifications of prospective Customers and to collect payment for the Service and not for any other purposes. We use the User Information in order to process the registration, to provide the Service to the customer and users and to otherwise communicate with you as a customer or user regarding the Service. Please keep in mind that we reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to your use of the Service, such as service announcements, notices about new features or information on the Service, administrative messages and communications regarding your account, without offering you the opportunity to opt out of receiving them. We also may use the User Information to provide advertisements from Pareto or its partners to you. From time to time, we may also collect information via online surveys or polls. Participation in these surveys or polls is entirely voluntary and you may easily decline to participate. Service Use Information. When you use the Service, information regarding your use of the Service, including statistics, configuration files, and log files of the networks from our Products (collectively, "Service Usage Data") will be automatically transmitted to Pareto. Pareto may use such information to monitor and improve the Service, for network performance improvement and security enhancement activities, and for support purposes. Pareto also reserves the right to use statistical information derived from its customers' network usage activities for its marketing and promotional purposes. Pareto also uses Site navigational information to operate and improve the Site and Service performance and security. Pareto may also use Site navigational information to provide personalized information about its products and service offerings. Aggregated Data. Pareto may aggregate information and data about you and your use of the Site and Service (including demographic or aggregated information obtained from User Data and Service Usage Data) (collectively, "Aggregated Data"). We may use Aggregated Data and otherwise exploit the Aggregated Data as we determine in our sole discretion, including for marketing and promotional purposes. However, in doing so, please be assured that we will only disclose non-User and non-Customer identifiable information (i.e., information that could not be used to personally identify any Customer or User) to unaffiliated third parties, unless otherwise permitted by this Privacy Policy. Children's Privacy. The Site and the Service are intended for adult users, and Pareto does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years of age. A Note about Customer Data. If you are a Pareto customer or you use the Service on behalf of a Pareto customer, the Customer- or User- identifiable data, information and other content you upload, input, process through or submit to the Service is referred to as the "Customer Data" in the Terms of Service. (Customer Data is not the same as Service Usage Data.) Pareto will not have access to Customer Data as it is encrypted before transmission as part of the Service and while hosted as part of the Service.

However, we may do so in the following circumstances: (a) as part of a merger, acquisition or any form of sale of some or all of Pareto's assets or business, (b) to our service providers and other contractors for the purposes of providing Service to us (such contractors are prohibited from using such information for any other purpose), and (c) if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to: (i) comply with legal process; (ii) enforce the Terms of Service; (iii) respond to claims that any Customer is violating the law or the rights of third parties; (iv) protect the rights, property, or personal safety of Pareto, its employees, users, or others; (v) detect, prevent or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues; or (vi) respond to User support issues. We may rent, lease, sell, provide, transmit and otherwise distribute Service Usage Data and/or Aggregated Data, without information that could be used to personally identify any customer or user, to advertisers and other third parties for their marketing and promotional purposes.
